More Satmar Squabbling

This is just lovely. More good press about the Satmars:
Chaya Sura Teitelbaum, wife of the grand rabbi's son Zalmen, and three other women went to the Cemetery of the Satmars in upstate Kiryas Joel yesterday afternoon.

Angry students from a nearby yeshiva, who are loyal to Aron Teitelbaum, who's been fighting with his brother, Zalmen, for control of the sect, threw rocks, State Police said.
You can't really blame these kids, I guess. They're just following the lead of their elders.

It's amazing the rocks came close for, if they're not allowed to look at the female form, how could they draw a bead on her? And what are they doing near the cemetery? And why not be a little like Aharon, the Rodef Shalom? It's not a good Jewish trait?

A little hypocritical Orthomom. I don't believe the NYPOST is any more reliable than NYM. So why are stories and names from the former permitted and ones from the latter not? Is it that you dislike Hasids but like the Gedolim? That's fine, but just say so!

I can't answer for OM, but this is a stupid question and Im happy to give my 2 cents.

1. Because throwing stones is a far cry from accused child molsting.

2. Because the accused stone-thrower has been charged by the law with a crime, and not just accused in a newspaper article without backup.

No hipocrisy on OMs part, IMHO, if anything Im always impressed with her restraint.

Carry on OM.

Let me try to do this slowly.

I don't treat unnamed sources in Ny Mag as credible, as opposed to filed police reports, which I consider credible in most publications.

I don't have anything against Chasidim per se, I do take issue with stone-throwing ones. Especially onesd who have leaders who involve themselves in brawls on a semi-regular basis.

I didn't realize that Zalmen Leib or Aron got physical with anyone.
But if you say so.....

Just sad. At least there was an arrest.

"Tzadikim" don't have to get involved, that's what they have Chassidim for, for good (Rebbe Nachman, Naftali Tzvi of Ropshitz, etc.) and, shall we just say, some others.

NY mag named its sources.

And though I have been following the story for weeks, I didn't touch it until NY Mag attached a name to it.

Not with regard to the R'Schneinberg quote. NYMag's source only implicates Kolko and Margolis (sp?). Important disctinction that must be made!

As I personally know David F. for over 20 years, if he put his name to this, then it's a reliable story by me.
