20,000 Visits

My friend Krum pointed out that my sitemeter had crept up to 20,000 visits while I was sleeping. Not that bad for five months, at least by my standards. So everyone, let's celebrate with wine and steaks over at my place! Oh yeah, the nine days. In that case, come on over for cheese sandwiches and chocolate milk. See ya.

Sorry - tasteless is what comes to mind. There's nothing to celebrate just a few days prior to the planned expulsion. And to say, its OK to celebrate with different food totally minimizes the importance and seriousness of the 9 days.

Uh, Jameel, there's no law that addresses giving up your sense of humor in the nine days along with the meat and music.

Of course!
Try it, you'll like it!

proofs:
1) they taste good together
2) corn and chocolate are both american plants
3) both foods are vaguely purple
4) since the chips are spicy, no need for salsa
5) chocolate is meant to be a dip/snack; what else would you do with it, make sandwiches?

How about I stick with salsa, and you stick with the chocolate spread?

fine, it's your party after all.

but you still haven't told us where or when!

When Ḥaḍramaut threw a baby naming for his daughter he invited everyone, and gave an explicit time and place. Now, i ended up being too lazy to wake up at 4am to make it up by public transportation to El Bronx, but at least he actually really invited us all!

You're such a tease. More proof you don't actually exist. There is no spoon! This is all just a figment of our collective imagination (mostly DovBear's)!

Congrats to ya, you'll see the next 20K will happen in a snap!

As for your food combinations steg only you would claim to foods go together becuase of their agricultural origins. Chocolate spread may not even have any ACUTUAL chocolate in it. Anyway I'm a big fan of sweet and salty and I have both products at home. Maybe I'll try some tonight in your honor OM!

That was a great party, OM! I loved the little fancy toothpicks in the grilled cheese sandwiches... and the paper umbrellas in the chocolate milk gave it that perfect tropical vibe we've all been feeling with the hot and humid weather!

I am a newbie to your blog and I just wanted to say my congratulations as well, orthomom! I am a gentile woman and I feel deeply for the Jewish people right now. I appreciate your blog immensely as well as many other Jewish blogs that I have visited. I am trying to connect with my Jewish roots on my mother's side of the family, and being a Christian, my Jewish roots of my faith, and I have learned so much from you and many others. Thanks so much and again, conrats and mazel tov!

Thanks Steg! It's always a pleasure to host the life of the party!

Thanks for the nice thought, Regina Clare Jane!

I would just like to point out for anyone still reading that I did not, in fact, attend a grilled-cheese-sandwich-and-chocolate-milk party hosted by Orthomom, nor any kind of party hosted by her. There is no spoon. There was no party, because after all, she does not exist. ;-)

The place to buy food in her area does exist, though.

This was a public service announcement for those of you who may have fallen prey to my reckless use of satire and sarcasm. I apologize.
